Genesis 41:41 - 42:5 shows us how Joseph leads Egypt through famine. Wink, wink:)

The key verse is James 1:5.

"If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you."

It's funny. This is something very easy, but we, the crazy people of the world, can't seem to ever be able to do it. Weird, huh? It is the fact that we have so much pride and we think we can do everything, all by ourselves.

Oh VBS...

I know it is to teach kids about God. I know that. But that doesn't mean it isn't one of the longest weeks ever.

This year we are in Egypt. This is my first year to be a helper. To be honest, I am a little excited.

I will be an assistant to Miss R (a really cool girl in her '20s who is just like me:) (she's single -wink, wink:). Our group is called the Asyuts. Pronounced As-YUU-ts. That is what the book said at least.

I am going to try to set it up where every night this week I post what we learned. I didn't explain it will, but you'll see:)

Tuesday I have to teach part of it because Miss R has something to go to. Scary!! I went over the lesson yesterday. It isn't too bad.

It will just be hard to make the to-be 6th graders to obey me. They are pretty much all boys and just a "teensy" bit wild. Who am I kidding?!?! They run around screaming like monkeys. Except one of the boys, B, is one of my best friends, so he doesn't count as a monkey. As long as he obeys me. MWA HA HA HA!!

~ Side-note: I don't like using real people's names, so I just use the first letter of their first names. ~

Snow Cone Machine :)

This is what I have been eating all week. :)

We got a mini snow cone machine at Wal-Mart this week for $20. It rocks and works really well. We got the flavors Blue Raspberry and "Bug Juice", a.k.a. Strawberry Banana. I mix them:)

My mom just uses the ice to make "Diet Mountain Dew Slushies"...

Today my friend-who I shall call "K"- is coming over. I plan to get in our bathing suits and use a hose and the trampoline... let your mind wander...ooo000OOO000ooo.

I don't know why, but I have fallen in love with writing Chinese. I just Google "Chinese symbol for _____" and then I draw it. I am running out of black marker fast.

This book was very good. She deals with the "fun" of friends, middle school, and an older sister. She also realizes what a true friend is.

This book is in a series called The Winnie Years. I have the next book in the series on hold at the library. My mom told me it was in last night! Woo!

The only disappointments I had about this book was that it used God's name in vain several times and at one point her older sister, Sandra, yelled the he** word, which Winnie pointed out.

I am fixing to start reading The Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan. I'm really excited about it. Adios amigos.

Pets 101: Rory, Guster, Heidi, and Ruby

Meet Rory.

Age: Around 9 months... we think...

Nicknames: Roe, Roe-Roe, Roey.

Story: While building our house, the workers had a dumpster. One day in mid-September they moved it. Out ran the mother and left her three kittens there stranded:( When we found them we immediately fell in love with them. This was the only girl. She has two brothers-one which we gave away (Chuck), and one which you will see in a minute.

She is my model, as you can see from above. She is very needy and very sweet.

Meet her brother, Guster.

Age: Same as Rory

Nicknames: Gus, Goose, Goose-Goose, Gooser, Gus-Gus.

Story: Same

He is not my model, again, as you can see from above. He also thinks I am his mother. Literally. Not even kidding.

Meet Heidi.

Age: Around 9... we think.

Nickname: Heidi-Loo, Girlie.

Story. If you or your mom reads my mom's blog, you/she will know about Heidi and her illness. (My mom is an amazing writer, so if no one in your fam reads it... well... you should.)

I love her soooo much. When I was younger I was pretty sure that she was this gorgeous scientist performing an experiment gone wrong and she turned into a dog. She's that smart.

Nickname: Ruby-Cube, Cube, Cube-ella (Don't ask me. Mom came up with it.), Rube.

Story. This dog is very dumb. So dumb, that you have to love her:)

Oh, and for those of you wondering about Chester and Fat (Oliver)... my parents put them on Craigslist... without telling me... and they are gone... and I never noticed they were gone... until they told me about two days later... yeah. I figured they were just napping a lot or something, plus they weren't very social. You are not allowed to get mad at me.

Hola Mi Amigas!

Well, Guatemala was wonderful,  and I have big news.

WE ARE ADOPTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ta Da! Yep, that's right. We are trying adopting a little girl. She is 5.  We have not come up with a bloggy name yet so I will get back to you.  Please Pray.

Guatemala was a life changing experience I must tell you.

Drama Queen

I have been in two musicals, three plays, and I will be in the big school musical in April.  

I have always been in one musical/play at a time.

Until maybe today.

Saturday, I auditioned for Alice in Wonderland The Musical.

I love musicals and I love Disney.  Perfect match, right?

This afternoon I find out if I get a part.  Hee Hoo Hee Hoo, etc.  (I am hyperventilating)

I kind of want to be the Mad Hatter.  I like to be sarcastic and odd characters.  It is easy for me:)

Right now I am just praying that if I am supposed to get a part, I will, and if I am not, I won't.

Forgiveness

Yesterday,  during the prayer request time at church, Mr. T (our sort-of-pastor) told us to pray for Mr. A.T., a really cool guy at our church.  His mom died last week in a fire.  She lived upstairs in her house with some renters living downstairs.  The renters left a candle burning when they left the house.  When the renter returned to find the house in flames, he grabbed his stuff, not thinking about Mr. A.T.'s mother.  She died.

Mr. T said that Mr. A.T. went to the renter a few days later and simply said, " I forgive you."

To be honest, I probably would not have done that.  I would have never forgiven the man.

Please pray for Mr. A. T.  and for the renter.

Thanksgiving Card

Mimi, my grandma, decided to do something called the Pass It Forward Series.



The Pass It Forward series is where she sends you 2 $50 Wal-Mart giftcards. One you use to buy your family's Thanksgiving food, and the other you give to someone to buy their family's Thanksgiving food.



I have had my card for a looooooooooooooooooong time and have not figured out who to give it to.



I have prayed alot that God would put someone on my heart.



This past Sunday I had still not given it to anyone.



During chuch I whispered to my mom that I still hadn't given it to anyone.



She told me that se would start praying about it, too.



There is an awesome family in my church that is moving to Guatemala in May.



They walked up to the stage to talk to our church about what they were doing.



I then said to myself, " What about them?"



People could then go touch the while praying my mom then walked up there. (My dad was in the sound booth.)



When she came back she said, " What about them?"



Now they have the card.

I Am Being Extra Careful Today

Today is the 22nd... the 22nd of August.

There have been two things horrible that have happened to me. They all happened on this date.

1. The 'falling down stairs' tooth accident. You may remember it.

2. The Wreck. I have never told you this story before. Here it goes:

When I was four, I went my grampa's office with my mom. Pa's to be exact. He asked me if I wanted to go to a gas station later (He worked for an oil company). He said it had really good candy. I was a sucker.

Mom and I went home for a while until Pa and Mimi came to pick me up. Mom was outside so I went with her with my purse in my hand. While we were outside Mom asked me," Are you sure you want to go?" I replied," Of course Mommy!" Little did I know that I should have said, "Of course not Mommy!!".

They picked me up and put me in my carseat and buckled me up. We were off. We drove to the gas station and I got LOTS of candy. Then we went to Dairy Queen and picked up some ice cream. We were heading back and we went under a bridge and Pa thought you turned right there. It was really just a hill.

Next thing I heard was," PA!!!"

Then I was upside down. We had flipped 4 time.

The Ambulance came and some teens stoped to help. Mimi had many cuts. Pa had a cut behind his ear. Me? I had a bruise on my cheek. God had protected me majorly.

I also have never gone to DQ again. And when I got home, the first thing I asked was,"Do I still have my candy??"

Oh, and today's my dog, Ruby's Birthday... what a coincidence.
